When I think of Pat, she is always laughing and smiling. I admired her fierce desire to learn and to understand, and to uplift others, to make a difference. I admired her independence when she came to the USA to live in Florida. Years ago, we spent a day there together when I was visiting my parents and we went for a long walk on the beach. She was wearing shoes with rocker bottoms that work your muscles as though you've walked 4 times as far or something and when I got a pair myself, I couldn't believe how strong she must have been to walk the long distance we walked in the sand that day. I remember she was driving a PT Cruiser and that seemed to fit her perfectly - it was such a spirited choice. I have also admired you, Frank, for continuing to love and be there for her as she followed her heart to so many places and touched so many people. I am better off for having known her.
