From Haruka who worked for Pat in Florida and became a close friend as a result 31st August 2019

When I moved to Florida, I didn’t know anybody other than Robert and his mom. Very shy to meet new people. I was just somewhat coming out of depression, which I had suffered for about two years prior. I was starting to get less scared and regained a self-confidence just a little and got enough nerve to call the number I found in the Craigslist. When I opened the Take One Media’s door, I didn’t know what to expect and was very nervous, but as soon as we started talking, I felt the connection instantly, I felt at ease and extremely happy and started to have optimistic outcome of my life. And you became the first friend I got in Florida. I really had a blast working with you. I remember that you used to turn on the electric kettle to boil water for tea, then you forget that you did it, water cools off, then you have to start the whole process again, then again throughout the day, you were so funny about it and still makes me chuckle. Also, listening to you and Anni talk to each other was like listening to a comedy show. Oh boy, you guys were so fun to work with. Did you know that Anni recently got married to the same boyfriend, Tony? They seem really happy together. I think Angelina, Anni’s friend from her high school was a bridesmaid at the wedding. According to Facebook, Anni is an Associate Production Manager at J.Crew now. She is successful, and seems to have a happy private life in NYC. I remember you were a little concerned about Anni moving to NY . Well, you must be so proud of her. January 22nd, 2008. Do you remember what happened on that day? That’s when you held my hands as I was having the worst pain (yes, the labor pain) and fear in my life, I was feeling so vulnerable. When Robert was only making things more stressful, you were there to comfort me, calm me and listened to me. You were there for me to support me. I was feeling sad for myself for not having my own mom there for me... you were there for me. I am eternally grateful, I will never ever forget how blessed I am to have a beautiful friend like you. So, if you need anything, anything I can do, please let me know. I can fly out tomorrow and be there for you. I would love to do that if you allow me. I am aware that Frank is there for you, but you can always use another hand to hold your hand, like you did to me 11 & 1/2 years ago. Takumi is 11 years old now and goes to middle school in a gifted program. He is in cross country team, brown belt in karate and plays the piano and the trumpet. He refers to you as his auntie. An auntie who always spoils him with toys, books and candies. So as Maki. Maki’s favorite book is still the book you gave him, Takumi uses the Mac Pro now. Even though we haven’t seen you for a while, you are still very part of our lives. Maki, who have became fond of Frank and followed him around when we all went to Myakka Park, is now 8years old, likes to talk about his plan for his future, he believes that he will become a NFL star, and a lawyer and a cafe owner then eventually, he will become the President of U.S. He is truly an exceptional kind of kid that people actually believe that he could be all of them. As a mom, I try to guide him to be compassionate and generous person, like you. You have left positive impacts on many people’s lives, as far as I know in a Florida and in Vietnam.... you don’t know this but I have lent your “Couching through Cancer” book to two of my friends who were going through cancer treatment. One of them are no longer with us but they were both inspired by the book and gave them hope and strength. So, on behalf of them, thank you, Pat! I can keep writing but I am going to stop here for today. I will get back to you soon again, so, hang in there! LOVE YOU ALWAYS💙❤️ Haruka
